Why We Do Our Work

Our philosophy is that we are saving space for collegiate males to be their true authentic selves.

  • Lack of Community: Many Black male students experience isolation, racial discrimination, or financial struggles on their college campus, leading to heightened emotional and mental distress.
  • Mental Health Stigma: There is a large misconception of Mental Health in the Black community. Black men often deter away from addressing their mental health out of the fear of retaliation from expressing themselves.
  • Limited Access to Culturally Competent Resources: Traditional mental health services often lack cultural relevance for Black male students, which contributes to underutilization of these resources.

Our programs are specifically designed to meet these needs and give a foundation of support to Black male students throughout their college tenure.
